For 2022, Cade Bradford Knudson isn’t ready to power down just yet.
At work, the Denver-based financial executive has rarely shut the system down. Cade Bradford Knudson has stayed on the grind. After finishing magna cum laude in graduate school, he embarked on a successful career managing multi-million dollar accounts in a highly focused, non-stop environment.
But he still knows when to hit “play” on some much-deserved me time. When he does get a break, he enjoys powering up his console. He brings the same competitive fire to the digital world. Fortunately for the avid gamer, there’s no shortage of options. In 2022 alone, there are still plenty of marquee games that will be out in the coming months.
With this in mind, Cade Bradford Knudson turbos through the five soon-to-be-released games he’s looking forward to the most.
Overwatch 2
The “Overwatch” franchise is changing the game. Again. After leading the charge of the esports movement, the first-person shooter is shifting gears. Sure, the latest entry will introduce new heroes, but it will also feature updated gameplay, including 5v5 and an expanded single-player campaign mode. But the more-traditional PvP experience will be released first. Fans can get their hands on this “early access” on October 4.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed
Cade Knudson Denver is looking forward to a little slime. “Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed” capitalizes on the emerging genre of asymmetric, multiplayer titles. Here, up to four players act as the ghost-busting team, while another person can inhabit a variety of ghosts. Chaos ensues, as each group carries out different goals and missions. “Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed” releases on PlayStation and Xbox platforms on October 18.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Gamers are returning to the battlefield again. The genre-defining, first-person shooter has been a staple for nearly two decades. The latest installment is a direct sequel to the 2019 title by the same name. Slated for an October 28 release, “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” is a continuation of that original story. However, Cade Knudson Denver suspects that the biggest selling point will continue to be its multiplayer mode.
Gotham Knights
Who will take up the cape and cowl once Batman is gone? That’s the premise for Rocksteady’s new co-op RPG. Play as Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, and Red Hood as they carry on his legacy as they battle an ever-growing list of rogues. Labeled as the largest open-world Gotham City yet, Cade Knudson Denver and others have high hopes for this title. It drops on October 21 for Xbox, PS5, and PC.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
Trainers will have a whole new set of monsters to catch, train, and battle. After its wildly experimental (popular) “Pokemon Legends: Arceus,” the company is returning to its roots. “Pokemon Scarlet & Violet” brings its mainline series back to a familiar play style. Yet that doesn’t mean there aren’t any new bells and whistles. This title boasts its first-ever open-world concept and co-op mode. Aspiring trainers can catch all the fun on November 18.
